A “micro” library has opened at the Big Marble Go Centre and the annual Water Run is this weekend.

Here is what’s on during the weekend of Oct. 11-13 in Medicine Hat and area:

📚 ‘Micro’ library opens

The Medicine Hat Public Library is opening a “micro” location at the Big Marble Go Centre.

From Friday onwards, residents will be able to access a selection of “read at home” and “read here” books.

The library says it’s all about meeting the community where they are.

🏊‍♂️ Kinsmen Aquatic Park re-opens

The Kinsmen Aquatic Park at the Big Marble Go Centre is reopening after upgrades were completed.

The slide, pool and all the other elements of the park are all back online.

🏃‍♀️ Annual Water Run

The annual Medicine Hat Water Run is taking place at the Veiner Centre this weekend.

Last-minute registration gets underway at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

All the race details are available at TheWaterRun.ca.

🎨 Paint sessions

The Creative Circle is continuing its group paint sessions this weekend.

Sunday’s session runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with “harvest” as the theme.

Teens and adults of all skill levels are welcome, including beginners.

Only 12 spots are available with tickets priced at $20.

🐅 Tigers aim to rebound

A struggling Medicine Hat Tigers take on the Brandon Wheat Kings tonight at Co-op Place.

It’s the first time the Tigers are playing the Wheat Kings.

They take on the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night.

🦁 Cubs home game

The Medicine Hat Cubs have a home game this weekend.

They take on the Rocky Rams on Sunday at 3 p.m.
