Mavs dump Red Sox, advance to East Final

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Mavericks have advanced to the Western Canadian Baseball League East Final.

The Mavs laid a second straight beatdown on the Regina Red Sox on Tuesday, defeating them 9-1 in Regina and sweeping the first-round playoff series.

Three-run homers by Tyler Vanneste and Brady Bean powered the Mavericks offence in front of five innings of one-hit ball by pitcher Dylan Esquival

Awaiting the Mavericks in the next round is the Moose Jaw Miller Express. The Miller Express beat the Swift Current 57s 8-6 to complete their own sweep.
