Vintage trailer rally making its second appearance in Medicine Hat
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Combine a car meet with camping, and you’ll get the vintage trailer rally that is making its way to Medicine Hat. From Aug. 17-20, over 90 trailers are meeting at Gas City Campground to show off their home-on-wheels. This is the second official year of the meet, after COVID restrictions put a dent in previous plans. Trailers are being brought from across Canada and the United States.
Organizer Sandy Kapeller says the out-of-towners are encouraged to explore Medicine Hat, with organized events such as a river paddle, and local entertainment. For those who aren’t hauling a trailer to the event, there is an open public event on Saturday. Visitors can walk around the campground and explore the interiors of the trailers. Kapeller says the event saw over 4,000 visitors last year, and she’s hoping more Hatters join in on the fun.
Kapeller said, “It’s like a car show, but with vintage trailers. So everybody likes old trailers, they’re just fun, they’re good to look at, and not two are the same. So visualize a car show, but with vintage trailers, held here at Gas City Campground.”
