CLARESHOLM, AB – Two people are facing charges following a series of incidents where pipe bombs exploded.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on March 25, Claresholm RCMP responded to a complaint of a loud bang in a garage in the community.

A witness told officers that they saw two people who carried a person, placed them in a vehicle, and drove away. A few minutes later, the RCMP said an injured man was taken to the Claresholm General Hospital with serious injuries.

The RCMP said officers attended the garage and found two people inside. A variety of items inside the garage were allegedly seized, including various types of ammunition, pieces of pipe, fireworks, an explosive fuse, and ammunition that had been cut up to remove the gunpowder.

According to the RCMP, the two suspects were also allegedly involved in pipe bomb incidents in Claresholm on March 4 and 6.

Jaden Ross Vincent, 27, of Claresholm, is charged with two counts each of using explosives with intent, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.

Vincent has been released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Fort Macleod Provincial Court on April 5.

Michael John Wynia, 40, of Claresholm, is charged with three counts each of making an explosive substance, mischief under $5,000, and causing an explosion, as well as one count each of possession of break-in tools and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
