LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service has apprehended a man accused of voyeurism.

On Jan. 9, police responded to a report of a disturbance at the YMCA in west Lethbridge.

The investigation determined that a man was seen using his cell phone to film underneath a shower stall while a woman was showering.

The suspect was confronted by two men and left the area prior to the arrival of police.

LPS says in a media release, “Staff at the YMCA were fully cooperative in assisting police and following further investigation the male was identified and arrested without incident.”

Tate Owen Rasmussen, 34, of Fort Macleod, is charged with one count of voyeurism.

He was released from custody following a bail hearing on several conditions, including one that prohibits him from attending the YMCA or any other swimming pool, playground, or recreation centre.

Rasmussen is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 17.
