New Year’s Eve Fest a ‘one-stop shop’ for family fun

Dec 29, 2022 | 3:59 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s the last days of 2022 this weekend and the Big Marble Go Centre has a long list of activities to say farewell to the year.

All corners of the facility’s first floor will be open and hosting an array of free, fun family-friendly activities, including bouncy castles, yard games and floor hockey, as well as skating and swimming.

City recreation program coordinator Mark Risdon says the event is free to help build community connections. He believes there’s a little bit of something for everyone at New Year’s Eve Fest from noon to 4 p.m. with a balloon drop at 3:45 p.m.

“For me, it’s just sort of the bright environment that we have here. We’ve got a lot of different activities so a lot of variety. And there’s nothing like being able to come in here and do a skate, and then going and running into Tot Time, hopping on a bouncy castle, doing some Nerf Wars in the back and then going for a swim,” he says. “So there’s a lot of things for people to do, so it’s kind of a one-stop shop for things to do on New Year’s Eve.”
