Irrigation lines replaced in Leinweber Park, fescue grasses planted

Oct 12, 2022 | 9:45 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The new look of Leinweber Park is beginning to take shape.

Work to replace aging irrigation lines began in June of this year and with that work completed, the City of Medicine Hat says the project is moving into the post-construction phase.

The city says that will include planting and establishing fescue grasses in areas throughout the park. The park and trail system will remain closed to residents into 2023 to ensure the landscaping has been adequately established. The temporary fencing will remain in place to help protect the topsoil, grass seed and sod.

For more on the project, you can visit the major projects map on the city website.
