MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat is now accepting bookings for Towne Square online through the city website.

Towne Square at 603 First St. is an outdoor venue for community gatherings, events, and activities.

Aaron Nelson, manager of cultural experiences and events says “the goal of Towne Square is to create a vibrant downtown while contributing to the vitality of the downtown neighbourhood.”

“We hope this space attracts residents and visitors to the downtown core and supports local shopping in the area.

Towne Square offers an open canopy area, eight market pods and two parking lots, all available for rent. A potable water station is also located on-site, as well as portable toilets.

“Our portable toilet pilot program launched on Monday, July 4. These toilets will be open from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as whenever events are booked at the space,” Nelson added. “This pilot will be in place for the month of July and is in partnership with the Medicine Hat Police Service Downtown Patrol Unit.”

“The space has already seen two events, including Ride Don’t Hide hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association, as well as the Sticks on First street hockey tournament,” said Nelson. “This is exactly what we envisioned for the heart of our downtown and we can’t wait to see what other creative and innovative ideas our community will come up with for the space.”

Review the venue guidelines and book your event.
