Bail hearing for Tamara Lich set for July 5

OTTAWA – Medicine Hat’s Tamara Lich will spend the Canada Day long weekend in an Ottawa jail.

Lich appeared in court over video this afternoon and saw her case put over until next week.

A full-day bail hearing is scheduled for July 5.

Lich was arrested by Medicine Hat police Monday on a Canada-wide warrant issued by Ottawa police.

She is charged with breach of bail conditions related to earlier criminal charges that she also still faces.

Lich was one of the leading voices of the so-called “Freedom Convoy” to Ottawa in January that became a three-week occupation.

Eric Granger, one of Lich’s criminal defence lawyers, told CHAT News earlier this week, the warrant stemmed from an alleged breach of a non-communication condition.
