MEDICINE HAT — Another soaker is set to deliver a lot of rain over south eastern Alberta today.tributaries

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for parts of Cypress County and the County of 40 Mile, as a system brings as much as 50 to 70 millimeters of rain to the area by Tuesday morning.

The rain is forecast to intensify this morning and persist through tonight.

That much rain has prompted Alberta river forecasters to put a high stream flow advisory on all streams and tributaries flowing out of the Cypress Hills, and for the eastern portions of streams in the Milk River basin.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
