Medicine Hat man dies in highway crash near Indus

STRATHMORE, AB. — A 46-year-old man from Medicine Hat lost his life when his pickup truck collided head-on with another truck on Monday afternoon, near Indus.

RCMP say the crash happened when a westbound 3/4 ton truck was trying to pass two semis on Highway 22x when it hit the eastbound pick up.

The driver of the 3/4 ton truck was from Calgary and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Medicine Hat man died at the scene.

A 54-year-old male passenger, also from Medicine Hat, was air-lifted to Calgary hospital with serious injuries.

A third passenger, a 16-year-old male, was transported to Calgary hospital by ground ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The mishap took place around 4:16 p.m. Monday.

RCMP continue their investigation.
