May 12, 2021 | 3:28 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Prairie Rose School Division has decided it will not be piloting the new K-6 draft curriculum this fall.

The district joins dozens of others across the province who have also opted out.

Prairie Rose made the decision on Wednesday during a public board meeting, where 18 members of the teacher review committee looked over the four core subject areas including math, language arts, social studies and science.

A press release from Prairie Rose says β€œthe committee did find some areas of strength in the proposed curriculum it was noted there were concerns that could not be overlooked.”
