CALGARY – The international stage is calling for a pair of local hockey stars.

Cole Sillinger of the Medicine Hat Tigers and Corson Ceulemans of the Brooks Bandits have been named to Team Canada for next month’s World U18 IIHF Hockey Championships.

Both have worn the maple leaf before, playing in the 2019 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Medicine Hat.

Back then Sillinger was a star for Team Canada White, notching five goals in six games.

Blueliner Ceulemans posted four assists playing for Team Canada Black.

This year he’s put up seven points in six games with the Bandits.

Sillinger is on loan from the Tigers to the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL this season. He sits seventh in the league in goals with 21. He’s added 20 assists for 41 points in 27 games.

The pair, both draft-eligible in 2021, will begin self-isolating on April 12 before Team Canada opens its pre-tournament camp on April 21.

The tournament is April 26-May 6 in Texas.
