MEDICINE HAT, AB – Restaurants across the province have been preparing to re-open for dine-in, following the government’s gradual step approach announcement.

Medicine Hat Brewing Company says they’re excited to have people back in seats next week.

Staff are also returning to work since this set of public health restrictions began in December.

“It feels like we’re getting back to normal again, a little bit. It just feels better to make food on plates than to set it in takeout containers,” chef and co-owner Brennan Vancuren said.

Co-Owner and sales GM Kaiden Vancuren says though they’ve been offering take-out during this time, they had to order more food supplies for dine-in.

Their hours are 12-9 PM Wednesday to Saturday and 4-9 for the restaurant.

Vancuren says their first day open will be Wednesday and reservations are preferred.

“Its been eerie to see the taproom not full of people, especially through the Christmas season,” Vancuren added

When dining-in on Monday (Feb.8) across Alberta, there can be up to a maximum of six people per table, individuals must be from the same household or two close contacts for those who live alone.

Liquor service ends at 10 PM and In-person dining must close by 11 PM.

Restaurants, cafes, and pubs must collect the contact information of one person from the dining party.

No entertainment allowed (e.g., no VLTs, pool tables, live music, etc.)
