Limited programming and services at the FLC starting Monday

Feb 4, 2021 | 4:21 PM

Medicine Hat, AB–The City of Medicine Hat is providing more information around the relaunch strategy for the Family Leisure Centre.

Limited programming and services will be offered as the facility remains closed until the province moves to Step 2 of the “A Path Forward” plan.

General admissions will be welcomed at a later date but here is how individuals may access the facility starting on Monday:

Arenas, Fieldhouse and Gymnasium
We are working with our sport user groups to accommodate 1-on-1 training requests. These bookings will be managed between our sport user groups and our Facility Coordinator. If you are interested in booking a private one on one session you will need to present a copy of your coaching certification as sessions must be between a certified coach and athlete. Individual workouts without a trainer are not permitted at this time. Please contact Susan by phone at 403-502.8745 or by email at susmcd@medicinehat.ca.

Fitness Centre
We are able to offer personal training sessions between the hours of 8am – 6pm for 1-on-1 training or one-on-one household training at the cost of $50 for members ($60 for non-members) per person. If you are interested in these services, please email fitness@medicinehat.ca or call 403.502.8566 and choose extension one.

Aquatics
A limited amount of private swimming lessons will be available to book Monday to Friday from 10am – 6pm. The cost is $29.50 for a 30 minute lesson. There are some limitations in regards to parents and children in the facility, please review this with Danielle upon booking. You can email Danielle at danell@medicinehat.ca or call 403.502.8566 and choose extension two for availability or more information.

Passes
Your pass will remain on hold. If you have questions regarding your pass, please email recreation@medicinehat.ca.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we maneuver with this next round of changes. We know this hasn’t been easy for our community and we are hopeful we will be able to welcome you back with socially distanced open arms in the near future.
