Three sent to hospital after head-on collision in Granum

GRANUM, AB – A head-on collision in Granum is under investigation by Fort Macleod RCMP.

Mounties responded at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 9 to Highway 519. They say a Nissan Rouge travelling eastbound was hit head-on by a Jeep Grand Cherokee travelling westbound.

The female driver of the Rouge was taken by ground ambulance to the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. The male passenger in the vehicle was taken by STARS Air Ambulance to hospital in Calgary.

RCMP say both were in serious and stable condition.

The driver and lone occupant of the Jeep Grand Cherokee sustained injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to Chinook Regional Hospital.

The RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene and traffic was diverted between 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the investigation.

The investigation is on-going. The current condition of those involved was not made known by RCMP.
