Second child dies following Red Deer County mobile home park fire

RED DEER, AB – A second child has died from injuries suffered in a devastating fire at a mobile home park last month in Red Deer County.

Cpl. Ron Bumbry with Alberta RCMP confirms to rdnewsNOW that a 5-year-old child passed away in hospital on Friday from injuries suffered in the Feb. 28 fire at the Westview Estates mobile home park.

Sarah Arlidge lived in one of the homes destroyed by the overnight fire along with her boyfriend, Chris Pozzolo, and her three children – seven-year-old Charlotte, five-year-old Benjamin, and three-year-old Sammy.

Charlotte passed away in the fire while Benjamin passed away on Friday.

Sarah continues to recover in hospital from her injuries while Sammy has been with family members after suffering a burn to his arm.

Blackfalds RCMP continue to investigate this incident with the assistance of investigators from the Red Deer County Fire Services. There is no timeline as to when the investigation will be completed.
