Local man arrested for attempted sexual assault at teepee

Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat Police Service’s Major Crime Section has charged a 53-year-old man with attempted sexual assault.

It happened early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the teepee. A man was seen forcibly grabbing a female victim and pushing her back into his vehicle.

He was arrested on scene by officers and the adult female victim was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.

Police have charged Claudio Tovar Aguilar with attempted sexual assault, administer an overpowering Drug in order to commit an indictable offence, unlawful confinement, and possession of a controlled substance.

He has already appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released from custody on a $4000 release order with conditions.

Aguilar is scheduled to be in court on January 15.
