CALGARY, AB — The Calgary Police Service’s Child Abuse Unit has arrested and charged a Calgary woman after an online video allegedly shows her allegedly abusing her child.

On Tuesday, police received multiple tips related to a live-streaming video that was captured on an online gaming website. The video showed a woman playing a game, and she is alleged to have slapped, pushed and bitten her 14-month-old son during the course of the video.

Police tracked the online persona to a Calgary residence, where they located a man, woman and two children. The woman was arrested and the children were taken to a safe location, according to police.

The 31-year-old woman has been charged with one count of assault. Calgary Police will not release her name in order to protect the child’s identity.
