Edmonton Police make largest fentanyl pill seizure in Canadian history
EDMONTON — The Edmonton Police Service have made the largest fentanyl pill seizure in Canadian history after dismantling a large drug trafficking operation earlier this month.
Members of the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement unit conducted a search warrant on an Edmonton home on July 5, following an investigation which started in March.
A total of 67,000 fentanyl pills were seized from the home.
Police conducted searches of three more homes in Edmonton, and a fourth home in Sturgeon County, with the help of the RCMP. In the Sturgeon County home, a fentanyl pill processing lab was located. Alberta Health Services has deemed the home unfit for human habitation as a result of the investigation.
