Brooks man’s criminal harassment charge withdrawn, mischief case resolved with peace bond

Oct 21, 2026 | 9:26 AM

A 25-year-old Brooks man, Brian Woodman, had a criminal harassment charge withdrawn in court in early October.

He also faced a mischief property charge that was reduced to a peace-bond disposition.

It includes a 12-month term that began on Oct. 6, 2026, along with a $1,000 fine.

Brooks RCMP previously charged Woodman in January 2026 after they investigated incidents affecting a resident.

Police had said the charges were specifically related to obstructing the resident’s use and enjoyment of her property.

Brooks RCMP said the investigation began on Dec. 10, 2025, after an electrician was called to a residence experiencing frequent power outages and, upon arrival, observed that the unit’s power had been manually switched off.

The electrician reported unusual behaviour from the property representative at the scene, prompting him to make a report.
