Brooks-Newell hydrogen project among four in Alberta to receive provincial funding
A hydrogen transportation hub planned for the Brooks-Newell region is among four rural Alberta projects receiving provincial funding to advance new technologies.
The Alberta government is investing 20 million dollars from its Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction fund to help the projects test, scale and commercialize technologies aimed at strengthening industry and reducing emissions.
In the Brooks-Newell region, the hydrogen transportation hub is expected to help reduce diesel use by 40 per cent for heavy-duty vehicles.
The projected $13.3 million project will receive $5 million in funding through Emissions Reduction Alberta.
