Brooks driver seriously injured after tree falls on vehicle

A Brooks driver was seriously injured Tuesday night after a large tree fell onto a passing vehicle, trapping the driver inside.

Brooks RCMP say the incident at about 8:30 p.m. happened as a Toyota 4Runner was travelling south on Young Road.

Brooks RCMP, Brooks Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene where the vehicle was crushed and the driver trapped inside.

Fire crews worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle, and EMS transported them to Brooks Hospital.
