Alberta extends AgriStability participation for 2026, citing extreme moisture
The provincial government is extending the enrolment period for Alberta farmers in the 2026 AgriStability program.
The move comes in light of extreme moisture faced by producers this spring and summer.
According to a release, producers can sign up for the program until Oct. 1, giving them more time to review and manage business risks associated with extreme weather or other unexpected difficulties.
Additionally, the 2026 interim payment rate has been increased from 50 per cent to 75 per cent of the estimated final payment.
