Brooks RCMP investigate collision and trading card theft, while making arrest to a wanted man

One occupant was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as the collision remains under investigation.

Two days later, Brooks RCMP arrested a 27-year-old man who was wanted on outstanding warrants for failing to comply with a conditional sentence order.

An officer located Youl Bol while on patrol Aug. 23.

Police say Bol was advised he was under arrest before entering a nearby garage, but later exited and surrendered to police.

Bol is charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with a conditional sentence order.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 26.

RCMP are also investigating a theft reported Aug. 23 at a Brooks Walmart.

Police say Walmart staff discovered a display cabinet had been left unlocked, and surveillance footage showed two people removing trading cards from the cabinet and placing them in a tote in their shopping cart before leaving without paying.

The pair left the store in a white U-Haul van.

The stolen cards are estimated to be worth about $2,000.
