Aug 4, 2026 | 8:05 AM

Brooks RCMP are asking for the public’s help as they investigate what they believe was a targeted attack involving incendiary devices at a residential property in the city.

Police were called to a home on South Shore Drive at about 1:34 a.m. on Aug. 2 after reports that an unknown suspect had thrown two incendiary devices toward the backyard of the residence.

The RCMP say the devices caused a small, contained fire on the deck, which was extinguished with the assistance of Brooks Fire Services.

Investigators also found several windows on a truck parked at the residence had been broken, along with damage to a basement window of the home.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The suspect fled the area immediately following the incident, and police continue to investigate.

Brooks RCMP are asking residents in the area who may have video doorbell or surveillance camera footage from between 12:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 2 to contact investigators.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Brooks RCMP at 403-362-5535.
