Medicine Hat heat warning could stretch to 11 days before a weekend cooldown
An extended stretch of hot weather in southeastern Alberta could keep Medicine Hat under a heat warning for an 11th consecutive day on Saturday before cooler temperatures arrive that evening.
Environment Canada meteorologist Brian Proctor said the duration of the heat event is unusual, even if daily temperatures have not reached record levels.
“What’s been really interesting with this one is it hasn’t been record-setting in terms of the amount of heat we’re seeing,” Proctor said.
“It’s been hot, and it’s been a fairly enduring event.”
