Medicine Hat under a Heat Warning as temperatures climb into the 30s
Residents in the Medicine Hat area are being urged to take precautions, as Environment Canada issued a Heat Warning on Friday.
The weather provider says temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-30s over the next two to three days, with overnight lows staying in the high teens.
The agency says extreme heat can affect anyone’s health. However, some people face a higher risk, including seniors, young children, people with chronic health conditions, outdoor workers and those who are socially isolated.
Residents are encouraged to drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks from the heat and schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
