Richmound Rockets game against Cabri River Rats at Athletic Park postponed

Jun 16, 2026 | 1:35 PM

A Sask-Alta Baseball League game at Athletic Park in Medicine Hat scheduled for Tuesday night has been postponed.

The contest between the Richmound Rockets and Cabri River Rats was set to start at 6:45 p.m.

The Rockets were set to be the home team and have several players from Medicine Hat on the roster.

This was set to be their only scheduled contest at Athletic Park this season.

A tough start to the season has the Rockets’ record at 0-3.

Two of those losses came against the River Rats during a doubleheader in Cabri on May 31.

The River Rats record is at 2-2.

Five teams based in southwest Saskatchewan now compete in the league, also based in Swift Current, Gull Lake, and Climax.

However, a number of teams from the Medicine Hat area on both sides of the Alberta-Saskatchewan border have competed in the league since it began in 1951.

The Rockets are the only remaining original team. They began hosting annual games at Athletic Parks in 2024.

In the early years, the Sask-Alta has also included teams in Fox Valley, Horsham, Maple Creek, Walsh, Irvine, Schuler, Hilda, Golden Prairie, Mendham, Burstall, Leader, Acadia Valley, Oyen, Shaunavon, Hazlet, Redcliff, and several in Medicine Hat.
