Brooks Bandits sweep BCHL Three Stars of the Week
The Brooks Bandits swept the final British Columbia Hockey League Three Stars of the Week after winning the Rogers BCHL Cup championship.
All three are likely to have played their final game with the Bandits.
Bandits goaltender Zach Zahara, who won the playoff MVP, was also named the First Star of the Week. He won all three starts last week, stopping 104 of 109 shots for a .954 save percentage and a 1.45 goals-against average. The 21-year-old from Rockyview has now wrapped up his junior hockey career, claiming titles in his two final years.
The Second Star of the Week went to Bandits forward Jack Rosensteel, who had four points in three games last week, including two goals and two assists in the three overtime wins. The 19-year-old from Pennsylvania has committed to play NCAA Div. 1 hockey at Princeton University in the fall.
