Brooks RCMP charge man after late-night arrest and seizure of suspected stolen property

May 27, 2026 | 5:03 PM

RCMP in Brooks laid multiple charges after a man was arrested Saturday night for breaching court conditions and being found in possession of suspected stolen property.

Mounties were called to the area of Upland Link at about 11:13 p.m. on May 24, 2026, after reports of a suspicious person in the neighbourhood.

Police said officers were given a description of a male suspect and were able to quickly locate him, who was determined to be in breach of a court-imposed curfew condition, and had been arrested.

Following the arrest, police said they searched the suspect and found suspected stolen items, including bank cards and other identification cards.

Further investigation also determined the individual was bound by a release order and a probation order.

As a result, 26-year-old Yuol Bol of Brooks has been charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of failing to comply with a release order and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.

Bol was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Brooks today.

Brooks RCMP Staff Sgt. Robert Harms credited public assistance in the case, saying the quick reporting of a suspicious person and suspicious activity was key to the investigation.

Police are again reminding the public to report suspicious activity when it is safe to do so, noting that information from the public can help officers respond quickly and prevent further criminal activity.
