New temperature records set in southern Alberta March 19
Some new temperature records were set in southern Alberta Thursday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Bow Island area hit 21.0 degrees Celsius, beating the old record for March 19 of 17.7 degrees Celsius set in 2021. Records in that area have been kept since 1961.
Elsewhere, the Onefour area reached 21.2 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous record of 18. 2, set in 2001. Records in that area have been kept since 1928.
In the Milk River area, the temperature rose to 19.4 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 16.9 set in 1997. Records in that area have been kept since 1994.
