Brooks RCMP respond to two vehicle collisions over the weekend

Mar 18, 2026 | 10:45 AM

Brooks RCMP have responded to two separate single-vehicle collisions over the weekend, where road conditions were identified as a contributing factor.

At about 4:25 p.m. on March 13, 2026, Brooks RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had driven through a fence.

RCMP said the vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence, causing significant damage to both the fence and the driver’s side of the vehicle, and issued the driver a warning after observing the tires were significantly worn.

At about 5:19 p.m. on March 14, 2026, Brooks RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision under the north end overpass, where Brooks Fire and EMS were already on scene removing the lone occupant from the vehicle.

Investigators determined the driver lost control due to road conditions and entered the ditch, sustaining minor injuries before being taken to a hospital for further assessment.

Brooks RCMP remind motorists that changing weather and road conditions can quickly make driving hazardous, as drivers are encouraged to ensure their vehicles are properly maintained, have adequate tire tread and adjust their speed to match the road and weather conditions.
