County of Newell seeks public assistance to identify suspect responsible for fishing shack fire

The Gem Fire Department responded to a fishing shack fire along the shoreline of Crawling Valley Reservoir on March 14, 2026, at about 4:30 p.m.
The structure has been deliberately set on fire and abandoned as the County of Newell Municipal Enforcement Department is seeking information that may assist in identifying who may be responsible for the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the event or has information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact the department at 403 794-2311.
