A new business and community data portal has launched through Medicine Hat Economic Development (MHED).

The data portal is designed to provide the local business community, residents and potential investors with relevant, up-to-date and accurate data.

MHED states that the new platform significantly expands the City’s previous community data repository, giving users access to a broader range of economic, transportation, neighbourhood, and workforce information.

The portal compiles data from sources including the Alberta Government and Statistics Canada, allowing users to explore key indicators such as population trends, labour market conditions and business activity in Medicine Hat and the surrounding region.

Features include interactive maps and data visualizations, along with the ability to export customized reports and datasets.

“This platform gives investors, business owners and residents an easier, clearer way to understand who we are – our people, our workforce and our businesses – so we can make confident, well-informed decisions about the future,” said the City of Medicine Hat’s director of Economic Development, Selena McLean-Moore.

The portal is powered by CityViz, a data platform municipalities across Canada use to make economic and community data more accessible and easier to interpret.

A platform that centralizes reliable data in a single location to support informed decision-making for local businesses, site selectors, developers, and community partners.

The data portal is now available through the Medicine Hat Economic Development website.
