The City of Medicine Hat announced Nadeem as new Managing Director of Corporate Services/CFO

The City of Medicine Hat has named Mustansar Nadeem as its new Managing Director of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, beginning on May 4, following a recruitment process.

Bringing more than two decades of leadership experience in public sector organizations, Nadeem most recently served as executive director with the Edmonton North Primary Care Network.

Nadeem previously held senior finance and executive roles with Olds College, including Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Corporate Services.

Starting his financial management career, Nadeem worked as an accountant in several industries, including with the Northwest Territories Power Corporation, before moving into finance director and CFO roles in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Nadeem holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Mount Allison University and a master of Business Administration from Laurentian University, and is also a doctoral candidate in business administration at Royal Roads University.

Interim city manager Joe Hutter said in a statement that Nadeem brings a strong financial leadership background and a collaborative approach that will benefit the city’s executive leadership team.

Lola Barta, the city’s director of finance, served as acting managing director of corporate services while the city conducted the recruitment process.
