Lethbridge woman wins $1 million in lottery

Lethbridge is now home to another millionaire.

Sandra Mogdan won $1 million from the LOTTO MAX lottery.

She says she went to check the ticket she bought on Dec. 31, 2025, at a local gas station while taking her dogs on a walk.

“I was stunned,” says Mogdan. “I may have said some mildly explicit words [at the time]!”

Modgan told her husband the good news, and she says it took a few minutes for it to register.

“[We both] still think it’s unreal.”

The lottery winner plans to get their driveway fixed, help out their children and grandchildren, and save and invest the rest.

“My husband and I are in our 60s, so it is just going to change the rest of our life,” she said. “We had an idea of what the next twenty years would look like and now, that is changing.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Lakeview Gas King at 2710 12 Avenue South in Lethbridge.

She had drawn the numbers 2, 4, 9, 24, 35, 45, and 48 for an exact match.
