Medicine Hat Tigers begin three-game home stand against Saskatoon Blades

Jan 27, 2026 | 11:36 AM

The Medicine Hat Tigers kick off their fourth three-game homestand of the regular season tonight, in the fourth of four meetings with the Saskatoon Blades.

It is the second time in five days the Tabbies and Blades will square off, as Saskatoon came away with a 3-2 come-from-behind shootout victory on Friday night.

Despite that, the Tigers hold a two-games-to-one lead in the head-to-head matchup and can secure a victory in the season series tonight.

The Blades lost 5-1 in Edmonton on Sunday to begin a four-game road trip, while the Tigers were in Prince Albert on Saturday night as they fell 5-1 to the Raiders.

Injury woes have rattled the Tigers over the past week, who will enter tonight’s contest without forward Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll and star defenseman Bryce Pickford.

Blades goaltender and Columbus Blue Jackets second-round draft pick Evan Gardner has been sensational over his last two starts, going undefeated while boasting a 1.45 GAA and a 0.952 SV%.

Saskatoon enters in a three-team race for home-ice advantage in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

They sit one point behind the Brandon Wheat Kings for fifth place, and three points behind the Calgary Hitmen for fourth place.

The Medicine Hat Tigers enter holding a three-point lead over the Edmonton Oil Kings for top spot in the Central Division and will look to maintain that lead with a win tonight.

Puckdrop from inside Co-op Place is slated for 7:00 p.m MST.

The pre-game show begins on WILD 94.5 FM at 6:30 p.m.
