It’s just after Christmas, as we approach New Year’s Day, here is what’s on this weekend in Medicine Hat and the area.

🎸 Boxing Day Party at Casa Amigos

FRIDAY

The Boxing Day Party at Casa Amigos in downtown Medicine Hat will feature music from Christie K from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and music from The Not Quites from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

🎸 Blues Music Show at Liquid

FRIDAY

The Liquid Concert & Show Venue is hosting Chilli Dogs and The Blues featuring Wayne Berezan with the Calamity Brothers, along with special guests Muriel Erick and Tim Herman, on Boxing Day at 7:30 p.m.

The event is “pay-what-you-can,” with a suggested donation of $20.

🎭 The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe

SATURDAY

The Paperback Stage presents The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe at the Medicine Hat High School Performing Arts Centre on Saturday.

The magical world of Narnia is brought to the stage, following four siblings as they stumble through a wardrobe into a land trapped in eternal winter.

Showtimes are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., which will also be the same times on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

🏊 Kinsmen Free Swim

SATURDAY

This Saturday at the Big Marble Go Centre is the Kinsmen Free Swim from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

🔭 Intro to the Winter Sky

SATURDAY

Eagle Butte Observatory north of Dunmore is hosting an intro to the Winter Sky on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available online.

🐯 Medicine Hat Tigers

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers return from the Christmas Break with an away game in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes on Saturday at 7 p.m.

They will host the Red Deer Rebels on Sunday at Co-op Place with a 4 p.m. puck drop.

Will Bryant will have the call for the radio broadcast of both games on Wild 94.5, starting with the pre-game on Saturday at 6:45 p.m., and Sunday at 3:30 p.m., when he is joined on colour by Lance Doll.
