Medicine Hat Tigers forward Liam Ruck named to inaugural WHL Prospects Game

Dec 10, 2025 | 12:41 PM

The Western Hockey League announced Tuesday morning that Medicine Hat Tigers forward Liam Ruck will represent the Eastern Conference at the inaugural WHL Prospects Game on February 18th in Vancouver.

Also announced to rosters were Ryan Lin (Vancouver Giants) and Mathis Preston (Spokane Chiefs), who will represent the Western Conference, and Daxon Rudolph (Prince Albert Raiders), who will represent the Eastern Conference alongside Liam.

The remainder of the rosters will be announced in the lead-up to the 2026 WHL Prospects Game.

Ruck, Lin, Preston, and Rudolph all represented Team CHL at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge last month, coached by Medicine Hat Tigers head coach and general manager Willie Desjardins.

Coaching staffs for both the Western and Eastern Conference will also be announced in the lead-up to the WHL Prospects Game.

This will be the first all-WHL event since January 19th, 2000, when Kelowna hosted the WHL All-Star game.

Since then, All-Star games or prospect showcases have been spread across the CHL, or have been of the WHL vs the world format.

Tickets for the upcoming WHL Prospects Game release today at 1:00 p.m. PST on vancouvergiants.com/tickets.
