Red-hot Tigers host streaky Wild squad for annual Teddy Bear Toss game

Dec 6, 2025 | 12:42 PM

It’s the annual Teddy Bear Toss game tonight inside Co-op Place as the red-hot Medicine Hat Tigers (18-6-3-2) play host to the Wenatchee Wild (9-14-1-1) for their lone matchup of the season.

Medicine Hat enters the tilt riding a six-game winning streak following a come-from-behind, 4-3 overtime victory in Moose Jaw last night.

Tonight also marks the beginning of a season-long four-game homestand for the Tabbies, who concluded their road action for the first half of the Western Hockey League season last night with a 10-5-2-1 record.

After starting 1-4-0-0 on the road, the Tigers went 9-1-2-1 the rest of the way, recording points in 12 of their final 13 games away from Co-op Place.

With a pair of goals, including the overtime-winner last night, Tigers captain Bryce Pickford saw his goal total climb to 17 on the season.

Pickford sits first amongst WHL defensemen in goals and is now just four back of the league lead in goals, held by Kamloops Blazers forward JP Hurlbert.

The Wenatchee Wild enter the contest amidst a brief three-game Central Division road trip that commenced last night in Lethbridge in a 2-1 defeat to the Hurricanes, also on their Teddy Bear Toss night.

Wenatchee was active in the trade market this week, sending 19-year-old forward Maddix McCagherty to the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for a pair of draft picks.

After starting 2-7-1-1, the Wild have been able to tread water, managing to go .500 over their last 14 games.

Interestingly, four of Wenatchee’s nine wins have come against Eastern Conference opponents, holding a 4-1-0-0 out-of-conference record.

Puckdrop for tonight’s Teddy Bear Toss game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with the pre-game show getting underway at 6:45 on WILD 94.5 FM.
