The community in and around Medicine Hat showed its support for the local food bank during the Wild Food Drive hosted by Wild 94.5.

In total, 306,814 pounds of food were collected during the event from several businesses, schools, organizations, and even included personal donations.

On Tuesday afternoon, twin brothers Chance and Levi brought their food donation for the food drive.

The young men raised $500 by selling firewood over the past few months, using that money to purchase the donated groceries.

Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub Executive Director Melissa Mullis said they are grateful to everyone who supported this event.

“A special thank-you to Wild 94.5, Rocky Cross Construction, and Traxx Coach Lines. This has been a beautiful showing of community, and we are truly thankful,” Mullis said.

“This amazing event helps us keep our shelves stocked through the holiday season and into the new year, ensuring we can meet the growing demand for our services.”
