Here is what’s on this Halloween weekend in Medicine Hat: October 31-November 2

Halloween is on a Friday this year for the first time since 2014.

Trick-or-treaters are expected to be busy throughout Medicine Hat and the area, seeking candy, and potentially forcing you to take a break from Game 6 of the World Series.

A game that is expected to be on televisions across the country starting at 6 p.m., as the Toronto Blue Jays will look to win their first title since 1993.

The weather is expected to be in the double digits with a mix of sun and clouds for most of Friday evening.

A high of 12 C forecast for Halloween, with the evening low of 8 C expected after trick or treating is done.

Winds are expected to be south at 30 km/h, gusting to 50 km/h.

Saturday is projected to be a mix of sun and clouds, with more clouds expected in the afternoon and an afternoon high of 18 C.

Winds are expected to be southwest at 30 km/h, gusting to 50 km/h.

The first day of November will see the evening remain cloudy, with a 60 per cent chance of showers, remaining windy, with a low of 4 C.

Sunday looks to be sunny with a high of 9 C and a low of minus 1 C.

🍬 Haunted House and Trick or Treat at Cypress View Foundation

FRIDAY

The Cypress View Foundation is hosting a Haunted House and trick-or-treating at their facility from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday.

The Haunted House is free, and candy will be available.

The facility is located in Crescent Heights at 722 Bassett Cres. NW.

Get ready for a night of fang-tastic family fun! Our October Family Fun Night is going full Halloween mode with spooky games, crafts, and activities perfect for all ages.

🧛 Halloween Spooktacular – Family Fun Night

The Halloween Spooktacular – Family Fun Night is at the Big Marble Go Centre from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday with a $5 cost. Book online to reserve your spot.

Family Fun Night will have games, crafts, and activities perfect for all ages.

🧟‍♂️ Glass House Haunting in Redcliff

FRIDAY

The Glass House Haunting is a fundraiser put on by the Redcliff Youth Centre. The last night for the Haunted House is Halloween night from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The cost is $10 per person, or $25 for a family of two adults and two kids 12 and under.

All funds will support local youth prevention programs.

The Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub will also be accepting non-perishable food donations.

😱 Haunted Tour: Scream Edition + St. Dymphna’s Haunted House

FRIDAY

Miller’s Haunted Tours: Scream Edition promises to plunge you deep into Medicine Hat’s darkest corners with all-new blood-chilling tales and sinister surprises that strike when you least expect them.

The tour’s final day is Friday night.

There will be two departures at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. from 268 Second St. SE.

Tickets are $50 per person plus fees.

🐍 Rattlers Athletics

FRIDAY, SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers have several teams on the road this weekend, with the volleyball teams taking over the home court at the Snake Pit.

The University of Alberta – Augustana volleyball teams take on the Rattlers Friday, with the women at 6 p.m., and the men at 8 p.m.

Saturday, the Rattlers host the NAIT Ooks, with the women at 2 p.m. and the men at 4 p.m.

👻 Silver Buckle’s Haunted House and Monster Mash

FRIDAY

Halloween is the final night for the Haunted House at the Silver Buckle for ages 14 and older.

It is underway on Friday from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Admission is $10, but is $8 with a food donation for the Root Cellar.

The Monster Mash Grand Finale will continue on the evening with Medicine Hat band Danczilla on stage.

🎸 Casa Amigos Halloween Weekend

FRIDAY and SATURDAY

A Halloween Party takes place at Casa Amigos on Friday night with a $5 cover charge.

Medicine Hat band Snakes and the Riot will be playing music throughout the night.

Blues, Rock, and Funk band Desperate Measures takes the Cantina Stage on Saturday at 9 p.m.

🎮 25-hour Game Day public portion

SATURDAY

Team #Dominicstrong has partnered with Six One Six Entertainment in downtown Medicine Hat to bring you an epic game day.

They will be at the facility for 25 hours, but the public can play with them from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, helping raise more funds for the Alberta Children’s Hospital via the Extra Life charity.

You can play board games, video games, do some axe throwing, cornhole, darts, pool or VR gaming.

The Six One Six facility games do require a separate cost.

If you make a minimum $10 donation, they will roll the dice, and team members will complete challenges.

🚁 HALO Air Ambulance – In Flight For Your Life Dinner & Auction

SATURDAY

HALO’s annual In Flight for Your Life Dinner & Auction is Saturday in Seven Persons.

A night of food, auctions, and community spirit all in support of life-saving missions across southern Alberta.

Reserve your ticket to be part of a night that helps fund HALO’s operations.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 403-528-9088 before 4 p.m. on Friday.

Individual tickets are $100 with a $50 charitable tax receipt. Tables of 8 are $700 with a $400 charitable tax receipt.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. at the Seven Persons Community Hall.

🥳️ Diwali Celebration at Cypress Centre

The Medicine Hat Hindu Association is hosting a Diwali Celebration at the Cypress Centre Auditorium at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Grounds.

The event starts on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The night will be filled with live entertainment, a three-course vegetarian feast prepared by Indian Kitchen, an open dance floor, a DJ, and Dholi drumming and more.

Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil — a time for joy, reflection, and community.

Everyone is welcome to join in the celebration — you don’t have to be part of the Hindu Association to attend.

🏒 Medicine Hat Cubs

SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Cubs have a home game this weekend, Saturday night, against the Cannex Cochrane Generals.

It will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams.

The Cubs dropped a 5-4 decision to the Generals in late September.

Game time is 6 p.m. at the Kinplex Arena.

🎸 Econoline Crush at the Esplanade

SATURDAY

Canadian Rock band Econoline Crush, led by frontman Trevor Hurst, will take the stage at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre on Saturday night.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

🎵 Memories of Autumn

SUNDAY

Memories of Autumn is presented by the Medicine Hat Concert Band and special guests The Medicine Hat College Girls’ Choir.

Join the Andante and Allegro bands at the historic Medalta Potteries on Sunday at 2 p.m. as they play a mix of music designed to warm your heart.

Tickets (Cash Only) are $20 for Adults and $10 for youth, on sale at the door starting at 1 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

Coffee, Tea and Desserts are included with tickets.

🐅 Medicine Hat Tigers back at home

SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers have a home game this weekend for the first time since Oct. 14.

The Tigers wrap up their seventh road game in a row on Saturday against the Oil Kings in Edmonton at 2 p.m., before returning to Co-op Place Sunday afternoon.

The matchup Sunday has the Tri-City Americans making their bi-annual visit to the city with a 4 p.m. puck drop.

Will Bryant and Lance Doll will have the radio broadcast on Wild 94.5 on Sunday, starting at 3:30 p.m. with the pre-game.

You can also listen to the Saturday radio broadcast with Will Bryant starting at 1:45 p.m.

🎸 Dallas Smith + His Band at the Esplanade

SATURDAY

Canadian musician Dallas Smith has had success as the frontman of platinum-selling rock band Default, and as a country music performer, with three consecutive CCMA Entertainer of the Year awards.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and will include country singer Brock Phillips as a guest performer.
