Here is what’s on this weekend in Medicine Hat: October 24-26

Heading into the last weekend in October before Halloween, Environment Canada projects weekend temperatures in the 20s on Friday and into the teens over the weekend.

Friday looks to be cloudy, a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon, and a high of 21 C.

In the evening, expect partly cloudy skies and a low of 11 C.

Saturday, the forecast has a mix of sun and clouds, and a high of 17 C with cloudy periods and a low of 6 C in the evening.

Sunday shows sunny and a high of 14 C with the evening clear and a low of 1 C.

Ski Swap

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

The Canadian Ski Patrol Palliser Zone is hosting its 6th annual Ski Swap on Oct. 24-25 at the South Ridge YMCA.

Gear drop off will take place on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., where skiers and snowboarders can exchange their equipment for cash.

The Ski Swap sale is on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with used skis, snowboards, poles, boots and other equipment available for purchase.

Any of the proceeds from the event go into the safety programs and equipment for the Ski Patrol in Medicine Hat and Palliser Zone.

🧟‍♂️ Glass House Haunting in Redcliff

FRIDAY, SATURDAY

The Glass House Haunting is a fundraiser put on by the Redcliff Youth Centre. The Haunted House is on Friday and Saturday night and will run until Halloween.

Days and hours include:

  • Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Halloween from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The cost is $10 per person, or $25 for a family of two adults and two kids 12 and under.

All funds will support local youth prevention programs.

The Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub will also be accepting non-perishable food donations.

📽️ Beetlejuice showing at the Monarch Theatre

FRIDAY

The Halloween movies continue at the historic Monarch Theatre this month.

The original Beetlejuice is showing on Friday at the theatre at 7 p.m.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Cost is $5 cash at the door, and 2 items for $5 at the concession.

😱 Haunted Tour: Scream Edition + St. Dymphna’s Haunted House

FRIDAY, SATURDAY

Miller’s Haunted Tours: Scream Edition promises to plunge you deep into Medicine Hat’s darkest corners with all-new blood-chilling tales and sinister surprises that strike when you least expect them.

The tours kicked off last Thursday, but will run each Thursday through Saturday until Oct. 31.

There will be two departures each of those nights at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. from 268 Second St. SE.

Tickets are $50 per person plus fees.

👩 Women in Business Expo 2025

SATURDAY

The Women in Business Committee of Medicine Hat is offering free admission to this year’s Women in Business Expo, Market and Tradeshow, thanks to support from sponsors.

The event is fully booked with 70 local entrepreneurs presenting the products and services of their female-run local businesses.

It will be at the Stampede Auditorium at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Grounds.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.

👨‍🦳️👩‍🦳️ Senior’s Expo at Veiner Centre

SATURDAY

Unison Veiner Centre is hosting its first annual Seniors’ Expo this Saturday, bringing together a wide range of services, businesses, and organizations that support the 50+ community.

The free, one-day event will showcase the growing network of local and regional supports available to older adults, from health and wellness to recreation, housing, and financial services.

The free event is at Medicine Hat’s Unison Veiner Centre, 225 Woodman Ave SE, on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

🎃 The Great Pumpkin Smash and the Boo Revue!

SATURDAY

The Great Pumpkin Smash is this Saturday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Esplanade terrace, where you can smash your pumpkin onto the drop zone below.

Free pumpkins will be on-site for the smashing, while they last.

There will be live music, treats, and hands-on activities in the free event for all ages.

Costumes are encouraged, and The Boo Revue! Performance by Puppet Stuff Canada is at the Main Theatre starting at 3 p.m.

It is a family-friendly Halloween cabaret starring the residents of a haunted graveyard as they rise from the crypt to sing, dance, and dazzle in a glowing musical variety show.

Tickets were available for free through tixx.ca, and the Boo Revue! is currently sold out.

If you have tickets and can no longer attend, you are encouraged to return them to allow others to enjoy the event.

Those in attendance are encouraged to pay what they will as they leave.

🎃 Trunk and Treat

SATURDAY

The Harvest Trunk and Treat is hosted at the Glenview Nazarene Church at 4072 Strachan Road SE in Medicine Hat on Saturday at 1 p.m.

No tricks, just treats will be given to those seeking candy, six days before Halloween.

Vehicles, with some decorated, will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters in the church parking lot.

🧑‍🚒 Firefighter Gala: Honouring 125 years of service

SATURDAY

If you have tickets already, you can enjoy the Medicine Hat Fire & Emergency Services Firefighter Gala at Co-op Place on Saturday.

The sold-out event gets underway at 6 p.m. with cocktails, followed by supper at 7 p.m.

An evening of dinner, drinks, live entertainment, a silent auction, and dancing will be part of the celebrations of the fire service’s 125 years in the community.

😱 Forest of Fear: The Invasion

SATURDAY

A haunted storytelling event, Forest of Fear: The Invasion, is being hosted at Police Point Park on Saturday.

The event will be held from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. with tickets $20 per person, and can be purchased in person at the Nature Centre.

The event is suitable for ages 16 and up with a guardian, and IDs will be checked at the door.

Funding will help support the Interpretive Program at Police Point Park.

🏒 Medicine Hat Cubs

SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Cubs have a home game this weekend on Saturday night against the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings from Strathmore.

The two teams squared off last weekend in Medicine Hat, with the Kings coming out on top with a 6-3.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Kinplex Arena.

🥳️ Teen Takeover @ Big Marble Go Centre

SATURDAY

The last Saturday of every month is the Teen Takeover at the Big Marble Go Centre.

There will be Nerf Rival chaos in the fieldhouse and other activities.

It runs from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and is for ages 13 to 17.

The cost is free for members or $8 for a teen admission.

🏊 Kinsmen Free Swim @ Big Marble Go Centre

SATURDAY

This Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. is the monthly Kinsmen Free Swim at the Big Marble Go Centre.
