Tigers fall 3-1 in Vancouver, drop consecutive games for first time this season

The Medicine Hat Tigers fell to the Vancouver Giants 3-1 Sunday evening, losing back-to-back games for the first time this season.

A pair of first-period goals, just over two minutes apart, kick-started the Giants’ offense to the tune of a 2-0 lead.

Medicine Hat would shrink that lead to one 6:47 into the second when Noah Davidson forced a turnover and wired a wrist shot five-hole to shrink the deficit to one.

Carter Cunningham would ring iron in the middle of the third period, and that would be as close as the Tigers would come to tying the game.

Giants forward Cameron Schmidt would add an insurance tally on a breakaway to stretch the lead back to two, securing the win for Vancouver.

The Tigers are off for two days before their B.C. division road trip continues Wednesday night against the Prince George Cougars.

Puck drop is slated for 8:00 p.m. MST with the pre-game show beginning at 7:45 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
