Video: Medicine Hat College Rattlers’ Bishop four shots back entering final round at CCAA golf nationals

Wyatt Bishop of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers has moved into a tie for second place heading into the final day of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association national golf championship at Desert Blume Golf Club.

Bishop, at 7-under par, sits four shots back of the leader, from CEGEP Champlain St. Lawrence in Quebec City, Que., after shooting a 2-under par 70 on Thursday.

He is also tied with SAIT’s Jordan Patel.

Also competing for the Rattlers men are Rylan Hodgson, who is in 26th place at 17 over-par, Hayden King is one shot back in 27th place, Keelan Burzminski is in 30th at 21-over, and Isaac Stehr is in 39th spot at 29-over.

The Rattlers women are led by Kiara Reesor in 14th place with a 73-over par, Ava Bratvold is two strokes back in 15th place, and Zoe Hodgson sits in 20th spot at 112-over.

The leader on the women’s side is Susan Chen of Toronto’s Humber Polytechnic. She sits at 10-over-par going into the final day with a three-shot lead on teammate Jordan Newlands.

In the team event, the Rattlers men are in fourth spot at a combined 43-over-par.

The Rattlers women are split across two Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference teams, and sit in fifth and sixth.

The public is invited to watch the event.

Golfers will tee off from 10:30 a.m. until noon on Friday, with the tournament expected to be completed late afternoon.

Scores are being posted through the CCAA website during each round.
