It’s the Thanksgiving long weekend, and temperatures are starting to cool later this weekend with moisture early on, according to Environment Canada.

Friday is forecast to be sunny with a high of 22 C and a low of 10 C in the evening. Overnight, partly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers.

Saturday is a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers in the early morning, then sunny. A high of 21 C, and an evening low of plus one C with rain.

Sunday is set to be cloudy with a high of plus 3 C and a nighttime low of minus 5 C.

Holiday Monday has clouds in the forecast with a high of plus 3 C, and an evening low of minus 6 C.

🐶 All-Breed Dog Show

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY

An All-Breed Dog Show is being hosted at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Ground Fieldhouse this weekend.

The event hosted by the Medicine Hat Kennel Club runs Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.

🎨 Art Box: Glow Paint

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

You and your group will get your own wall and a fully stocked glow paint station located under a UV truss light.

Your canvas will be an oversized colouring page with a variety of options.

Adult-only sessions take place on Friday at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Family sessions take place on Saturday at 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 6 p.m.

It all takes place at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre.

🐅 Medicine Hat Tigers

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers are on the road to Calgary to take on the Hitmen Friday night with a 7 p.m. puck drop at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Will Bryant will have the call on Wild 94.5 starting with the pre-game at 6:45 p.m.

Saturday night, the Tigers host Pittsburgh Penguins’ draft pick and Medicine Hat’s own Ryan Miller and the Portland Winterhawks for the only time this regular season.

Puck drop at Co-op Place is at 7 p.m.

Will Bryant will be joined by Lance Doll on the radio broadcast on Wild 94.5, with the pre-game starting at 6:30 p.m.

📽 The Shining at the Monarch Theatre

FRIDAY

“Here’s Johnny!”

The classic Stanley Kubrick film The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson, is playing at the historic Monarch Theatre on Friday.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the movie underway at 7:30 p.m.

The $5 Admission is cash only, with any 2 items from the concession also $5.

📽 The Silver Scream

SATURDAY

Dead Prairies Production presents The Silver Scream in the Medicine Hat Public Library Theatre on Saturday.

The non-profit movie company based out of Swift Current, creates independent horror movies.

The movie is rated 14A and is free entry, but they are accepting donations for SPCA.

Showtime is at 7 p.m.

🎸 Colter Wall and Friends at the Esplanade

FRIDAY

Tickets had sold out quickly for the Colter Wall and Friends concert at the Esplanade this Friday.

It was previously scheduled for the end of February, and several months later, fans will get to see the country singer originally from Swift Current perform.

Opening up is Bow Island country singer Noeline Hofmann.

The concert is underway at 7:30 p.m.

🍂 Fall Festival at Lions Park in Redcliff

SATURDAY

The Town of Redcliff hosts the Fall Festival and Chilli Cook-Off on Saturday at Lions Park from Noon until 4 p.m.

The Chilli Cook-Off is new to this year’s event.

For $5, you can taste everyone’s creations and vote for your favourite chilli!

All proceeds go towards the Redcliff Youth Centre!

Chilli will be available while supplies last, or until 3 p.m.

Free activities will include pumpkin carving, a penny carnival, and a Christopher Cool Magic Show at 2 p.m.

If chilli isn’t your thing, hot apple cider, hot dogs, mini donuts, ice cream, and dirty sodas will be available courtesy of Something for Everyone Fall Market.

🐍 Rattlers Athletics

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s hockey team has its home opener on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Moose Recreation Centre.

The Rattlers women’s soccer team hosts the University of Alberta – Augustana team on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the college’s soccer field.

🏒 Medicine Hat Cubs

SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Cubs host the Rocky Rams on Sunday.

It’s the only time during the regular season the team from Rocky Mountain House will make the trip to the city to take on the Cubs.

Game time in Kinplex 1 is at 3 p.m.
