Tigers take down Hurricanes 4-2 for first road win of the season

Oct 3, 2025 | 10:13 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-2 inside the VisitLethbridge.com Arena to pick up their first road win of the season.

Misha Volotvskii and Noah Davidson each scored their second goals of the season to get the Tigers in front 2-0 early in the opening frame.

Hurricanes forward Hudson Kibblewhite would respond minutes later on the power play to shrink the deficit to one through twenty minutes.

Early in the second period, former Tiger Shane Smith would score on a shorthanded breakaway to tie the game at two.

Medicine Hat would respond in the back half of the frame with Kadon McCann muscling a shot past the blocker of  ‘Canes netminder Koen Cleaver to restore the Tiger lead.

After a scary high-sticking penalty sent the Tigers to a four-minute man-advantage, Yaroslav Bryzgalov would extend the Tigers lead back to two with his first career WHL goal on the power play.

The Tigers would hold onto the lead the rest of the way, fending off a late Lethbridge power play in the final two minutes to emerge with the 4-2 victory.

Jordan Switzer was stellar for the Tigers, stopping 28 of 30 shots on the night to improve to 3-0 on the year.

Cleaver stopped 40 of 44 shots in the defeat for Lethbridge.

Kadon McCann was named the first star of the game with one goal on the night, the game winner.

Medicine Hat is back in action tomorrow night at home as they welcome the Calgary Hitmen for the first of eight regular-season meetings.

The pre-game show gets underway tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. with puck drop slated for 7:00 p.m., and you can catch all the action live on WILD 94.5 FM.
