Light agenda for Medicine Hat City Council on Monday, public hearing cancelled

Medicine Hat city council is set to meet Monday with a light agenda scheduled.

A public hearing initially scheduled on the rezoning of a Saamis Drive Northwest location for a new potential home for The Mustard Seed’s shelter services was cancelled on Friday.

The application has been withdrawn by the group as the city received numerous concerns about the proposed location.

The City of Medicine Hat will now seek public input on a new location.

Unfinished business on the agenda includes council providing direction to administration regarding the implementation of recommendations from the Municipal Inspection Report.

Included are 53 governance recommendations and 15 administrative, financial, and operational recommendations.

A presentation will be made on a Parks Bylaw, which had been given a first reading two weeks prior.

Another item is the Community Vibrancy Grant Distribution, with a total of $142,000 potentially distributed to 11 different organizations.
