Cypress County under fire ban due to extremely dry conditions
Sep 25, 2025 | 4:43 PM
A fire ban is now in effect for Cypress County.
County officials say the ban went into effect as of 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, due to a lack of precipitation and hot and dry conditions.
The ban means fireworks, Incinerators, burning barrels, charcoal and other solid fuel barbecues, recreational campfires, and chimineas are not allowed.
Recreational fire pits, household fireplaces, wood pellet smokers, and propane or natural gas-fueled appliances, however, are allowed during the fire ban.
